Would anyone go?
As known, Mars isn’t that most beautiful planet in the galaxy and it has no bodies of water or vegetation. Mars is also a gloomy place. Why don’t you imagine living in the desert and the temperature is -23 degrees Celsius during the day? Would you or anyone want to live there?
It is impossible to think that Mars would be similar to Earth! Would anyone want to experience a tough life on this red planet or on space vehicles? Although, we would be able to transform Mars into an applicable environment to sustain humans and plants and we would also be able to transform the planet to a place where we don’t have to wear space suits and breathe the Martian air.
In spite all of this, many people HAVE volunteered to be the first to travel to Mars on 2023 (only four will be chosen). Physicist Paul Davies has said that whenever he brings this topic up at lectures, people raise their hands to volunteer for the trip. Also, Buzz Aldrin, who was the second man to walk on the moon, believes plenty of astronauts would volunteer to colonize Mars.
