Why is mars the only planet humans can survive on?
Every day the population of Earth increases meaning that there are fewer amounts of resources enough for the population. This is why scientists and astronomers are trying to find another planet that will be applicable for humans to live on. Even though there are no known planets that have Earth’s environment and atmosphere, Mars, our closest atmosphere is the second best option besides Earth that humans can live on.
Even though there are BILLIONS of planets and stars in our universe, and seven other planets in our solar system (remember, Pluto is a dwarf planet"), why do we focus so much on Mars? A part of the answer is that Mars is a very short distance away from Earth and it will take you (when you travel there) only 259 DAYS! Mars also has a similar day length to Earth, so when you arrive there you won’t feel a big time and day difference and it also has a similar landscape to Earth. Although, Mars has a critically low quantity of liquid water but it does contain FROZEN water in its polar ice caps. Of course, this does mean that Mars isn't entirely capable in supporting and providing necessities for humans.
